These delicious turkey meatballs are the perfect thing to stuff your sandwich with.

Ingredients

  1. Rhodes Mini Baguettes or Artisan French Rolls, thawed
  2. turkey meatballs, recipe below
  3. marinara sauce
  4. grated mozzarella cheese
  5. garlic butter or spread
  6. Turkey Meatballs:
  7. 2 pounds ground turkey
  8. 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
  9. 3 egg whites
  10. 3 tablespoons water
  11. 3 tablespoons dry minced onions
  12. 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  13. 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper

Instructions

Make meatballs following instructions below. Slice baguettes or rolls open, sandwich style. Pull a small amount of the bread out of the bottom of each one to make a slight bowl. Spread the inside, both top and bottom with garlic butter.

Place 2 or 3 meatballs on bottom. Spoon marinara over meatballs and sprinkle with cheese. Place both meatball filled bottom and top with spread side up, on baking sheet.

Bake at 350°F 5-8 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread edges are golden brown.

Meatballs:
Combine all ingredients thoroughly, roll into 2 inch balls (makes about 24). Place on baking sheet and bake at 350°F 25 minutes. Turn meatballs half way through baking time.
