Bread and hot dogs-a marriage made in heaven with taste buds and the hot dog finally stays in place!

Prep Time: 10 min (not including thaw time)
Bake Time: 15-20 min
Servings: 4
Skills: Beginning

  1. 8 Rhodes Yeast Dinner Rolls, thawed but still cold
1 package hot dogs, 8 count

Roll each roll into a 14 to 15-inch rope. Twist rope around each hot dog 4 or 5 times, securing ends in dough.

Place on a large sprayed baking sheet. Bake immediately at 350°F 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve immediately with desired condiments.

These curly dogs may also be cooked over hot coals at a summer cookout.

Loved this recipe. Made them for American Heritage Girls Squad. They said they were the best dogs they had ever eaten. We will be using the recipe for a lot more camping trips. So easy too! Thanks!

Why don't you make Pizza dough? At least if you do, I can't find it in any stores in my area. Do you make pizza dough, where can I buy it?

We do make pizza dough but it is only available at Wal-mart right now. If you can't find it, you can actually use any of our dough for pizza. Just let it thaw and get warm then roll it out. Works great!

These hot dogs are awesome!!! Totally brings me back to elementary school when "Long Dog Roll-Ups" were my absolute favorite menu item... *nostalgic sighing bask* :) Anyway, I love to enhance this recipe by generously brushing the ropes of dough with melted butter mixed with garlic powder before I curl them around the hot dogs. Super tasty!!! :)
