Bread bugs are much more desirable and delicious than the other kind.


Prep Time: 8 min (not including thaw time)

Ingredients

  1. 2 Rhodes Texas Rolls, thawed, but still cold
    1 egg, beaten

Instructions

Cut 1 roll in half and join 1 1/2 rolls together. Roll into a short, fat rope for the body. Place in slightly curved position on sprayed cookie sheet.

With a knife, cut the end off of the rope for the head, but leave it in place.

Roll remaining half roll into a narrow rope. Cut small tips off ends for the eyes and press eyes into head. Divide the rest into 10 sections. Place sections on sides of body for legs. Cut shallow slashes across the back of body with knife.

Brush with beaten egg and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake a 350°F for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool and slice horizontally. Fill with peanut butter and jam if desired.
