Make your own cinnamon rolls and tie them in knots for a twist on the traditional.


Prep Time: 15 min (not including thaw time)
Bake Time: 15-20 min

Ingredients

  1. 12 Rhodes Yeast Texas Rolls, thawed but still cold
  2. 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  3. 1/2 cup sugar
  4. 1/4 cup butter, melted
  5. Icing:
  6. 1 cup powdered sugar
  7. 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  8. 2-3 tablespoons milk
  9. 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

Mix cinnamon with sugar. Roll each roll into a 9-inch rope. Tie in a loose knot. Roll each knot in melted butter and then cinnamon/sugar mixture.

Place in a sprayed muffin tin. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and let double in size.

Remove wrap. Bake at 350°F 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan and place on a cooling rack. Brush with icing while still warm.

I have made these Cinnamon Knots a couple of times. My problem now is that I can't find the Texas Rolls anywhere ! I an wondering if I can use the regular dinner rolls and combine 2 rolls together to make the knots ? Or will one regular roll work, just smaller ? Thanks for any help !

I use the dinner rolls. One roll is adequate to make a nice knot. Have made them for a couple of years~~a favorite at our house.
