A favorite breakfast food made with easy to make frozen bread dough.

Ingredients

  1. 2 loaves Rhodes Wheat Bread Dough, Baked.
    1 cup egg substitute
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/4 cup skim milk
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    cinnamon sugar
    Reduced Calorie Maple Syrup (Optional)

Instructions

Bake bread as directed on package. Cool and slice into 8 1-inch slices. In shallow bowl, lightly beat egg substitute until foamy. Add milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside. Preheat oven to 200°F. lightly spray a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray; turn stove to medium heat. Dip slices of bread into egg mixture, turning to coat and draining excess back into dish. Place bread slices in prepared skillet, cook until golden brown, turning once, about 1 to 2 minutes per side. Transfer cooked slices to a plate. Keep warm in oven. Repeat above steps for remaining slices. Sprinkle French toast with cinnamon sugar and top with maple syrup as desired.
