Braids are a beautiful and delicious way to serve this chicken dinner!

  1. 8 Rhodes Texas White rolls thawed and risen
    2 cups chicken, cooked and cubed
    1 cup sliced mushrooms
    1/2 teaspoon thyme
    1/2 teaspoon basil
    1/4 teaspoon oregano
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon pepper
    1/2 cup nonfat mozzarella cheese, grated


Thaw rolls until soft and risen. Lightly spray surface with nonstick cooking spray. Roll thawed dough into 12x18-inch rectangle. With a clean ruler, start at top of the rectangle and roll the ruler down dough marking every 1 3/4 inches. Mark the rectangle into thirds length wise using ruler to indent. Combine chicken, mushrooms, and spices. Spread filling down center of braid. Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut along horizontal lines. Do not cut through the center 1/3rd. Begin braid by folding top and bottom rows toward filling. Start at the top and fold strips of dough left over right, right over left, continuing until finished. Support braid with both hands and place on sprayed cookie sheet. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap. Let rise 30-40 minutes. Remove wrap. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle cheese on top. Bake for additional 10 minutes.30
