This is a perfect recipe for your Spring get togethers.
Toss bread cubes and melted butter. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes. Place asparagus pieces in microwave safe bowl and sprinkle with water. Microwave for 2 minutes to keep them crisp but not hard. Combine bread cubes, drained asparagus, onion, ham and 1/2 cup of the cheese. Arrange mixture in sprayed 9x9 inch baking pan.
Whisk eggs, 1/2 cup of half and half, salt and pepper. Pour over bread cube mixture. Pour remaining half and half over the top and make sure all bread cubes are covered. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or at least 6 hours. Remove from fridge, uncover and sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Bake at 350°F 30 minutes. Cover with foil to prevent over browning and bake 15-20 additional minutes.
