These Strawberry Puffs are a delicious treat made with Rhodes Rolls and strawberries and drizzled with chocolate. Easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
I love getting in the kitchen and baking with my kids. Summertime is, even more fun because we can get delicious fruits like Strawberries to bake with (and eat). We recently made a fun recipe that we decided to call Strawberry Puffs - that are absolutely amazing so we wanted to share it with you today. For this recipe, you will need a bag of Rhodes Frozen Rolls, a package of strawberries, and dipping chocolate. Are you ready? Grab your kids and have them help - it is a lot of fun and pretty easy to make.
First, you are going to take the thawed Rhodes rolls and cut them into 1" x 1" pieces. After you get about 24 pieces, you will next want to do the strawberries. Take about 8-10 large strawberries and wash them, then dice them into small pieces. Put these into a bowl and add a spoonful of sugar and mix it (the sugar will help create a juice that we will use at the end).
Now you will take a mini-cupcake pan and spray it with cooking spray. Use a silicone baking mat and put the dough on it and roll it out into a flat 4-5" circle. Spoon a small amount of the strawberries into the center (try to avoid getting a lot of juice) and then gather all of the edges together and pinch them so they form a ball around the strawberries.
Once you have your ball completed, you will put it in upside down in the mini-cupcake pan. Repeat this for about 12 of the pieces until the strawberries are used up. Then you will take the rest of the pieces, and dip them in the strawberry sauce (cover as much as possible) and then stick it into the mini-cupcake pan.
When all 24 slots in the pan are full stick it into the oven at 350 degrees for about 18-20 minutes and bake until lightly browned. Pull them out and let them cool while we get the chocolate ready. If you have a cooling rack, it is perfect to put them on there, or onto a serving dish, out of the hot pan.
To get the chocolate ready for dipping, you will melt it in the microwave in 20-second increments until melted. Be sure to add a drizzle of oil into the chocolate to keep it from drying too hard.
Now that the chocolate is ready and the Strawberry Puffs have cooled a little, you will take a spoon and drizzle the chocolate over the top of the puffs. If you would rather, you can take and dip the bottom half into the chocolate. Both ways work and they both taste amazing. Use white or milk chocolate. I am sure that even dark chocolate would be delicious. You can even add sprinkles for a patriotic flare for this upcoming Fourth of July!
