I'm happy to be joining Rhodes Bread during Pizza Month to share fun and easy ways to incorporate variety in our pizza recipes. I blog over at Krystal's Kitsch, and I frequently highlight ways to coordinate simple parties and how to create recipes on a budget. Rhodes Bread is a perfect addition to a family get together, and a unique way to serve a pizza.
I wanted to highlight how easy it can be to create a party recipe that pleases everyone. The best part about DIY Bars (whether it's pizza, a mimosa bar, or even a breakfast bar!) is that each guest can create their own combination. With pizza, that makes everyone happy! My husband and I usually order different pizzas and have way too many leftovers. With this Rhodes Bread DIY Pizza Bar, all the toppings can be customized. Think about your creative pizza toppings while I'll share our latest dinner idea.
My local supermarkets just started carrying Rhodes Bake N Serv Dinner Rolls, and I picked a bag. Each bag has 36 rolls which is amazing considering the price.
I followed the quick cooking instructions, and we had fresh bread in under two hours. Our entire home smelled like fresh bread, and it was wonderful.
Believe it or not, I've actually never prepared my own bread before. I usually grab some from the bakery, but now that I see how much more cost-effective (and versatile!) this product is, I'm going to be a Rhodes bread fan forever.
While the bread was baking, I set up a pizza toppings bar. I wanted to specifically make three meat pizzas (one of our favorites), but also wanted the option to customize the toppings a little bit. I set out mozzarella cheese, sausage crumbles, bacon bits, pepperoni, peppers, and pizza sauce.
You can make the display elaborate or simple, but I chose to go easy with this dinner. This was a quick, interactive meal that was a hit for all guests involved.
There are a few ways to prepare the dinner rolls to enjoy a pizza, but I kept it simple. I baked the rolls as the instructions requested, and I sliced each one in half. I then added my toppings.
A little cheese, a little sauce, and a whole lot of meat.
Three Meat Mini Cheese PizzaIngredients:
- Rhodes Dinner Rolls
- 1 bag of mozzarella cheese
- 1 bag of prepared sausage crumbles (look in the breakfast aisle)
- 1 package of pepperoni
- bacon bits
- pizza sauce
- other toppings as desired.
- Prepare dinner rolls as instructed.
- Heat up sausage crumbles in the microwave.
- When the rolls are finished, slice in half.
- Top with a tablespoon of pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, 1 tsp of bacon bits, 1 tbsp of sausage crumbles, and two pepperonis.
- Optional: Melt the cheese in a microwave (for twenty seconds or so) or add to a warm toaster oven briefly.
The bar I set up allowed us to create mini pepperoni pizzas, three meat cheese pizzas, sausage pizzas, and a few others. The spicy sausage flavor paired with the crisp dinner roll was a perfect combination.
