Meatball Sliders

Meatball Sliders are snap with our new Warm-N-Serv Crusty Rolls or Sourdough Rolls. Just bake them ~ slice them ~ stuff them with warm marinara & meatballs, top with cheese and ENJOY!...

One night I was craving something simple for dinner. I had been wanting to make homemade meatballs for months and when I came across the meatball sliders in the Rhodes recipe database I knew it was calling my name. I was in sort of a time crunch so I was just going to buy pre-packaged meatballs. Until I read the ingredients list. There are lots of unnecessary and yucky things put in to pre-packaged meatballs. So I opted to make my own. They were SO delicious and extremely easy paired with these Rhodes sliders. Of course you don't have to make your own meatballs (although I would highly recommend it). You should definitely make these for lunch or dinner. You won't regret it.

You only need a handful of ingredients: Rhodes Warm-N-Serv™ Crusty Rolls or Sourdough Rolls, prepared or homemade meatballs, marinara sauce, fresh Parmesan cheese (thinly sliced), and fresh basil leaves.

Bake rolls following directions on package. Let cool. You must resist the urge to eat them right out of the oven. If you know you won't be able to, bake a few extra ;)

I combined my fresh meatballs with warm marina sauce (previously heated on the stove). Or, you can mix the marinara and meatballs together and heat over medium-high heat on the stove top.

I didn't have fresh basil leaves (weren't quite ready from our garden yet), so I just used the freeze-dried basil that I had on hand. Worked like a charm!

To assemble, you will split the rolls and fill with marinara sauce/meatball mix, cheese and basil (unless you've already mixed it in with your meatballs). Serve warm and enjoy!
