We use bread crumbs in a lot of our cooking. Lately it’s been for homemade baked chicken nuggets or macaroni and cheese. I always have them in the pantry, so I didn’t even think to add them to our grocery list when I decided to make this zucchini and yellow squash gratin from Tried and Tasty! The one time I’m OUT of bread crumbs and it’s actually a recipe I was looking forward to try!! Instead of running back to the store I looked around for something that would make a great substitute. That is when I discovered just how easy it is to make your own bread crumbs. Especially with Rhodes Mini Baguettes!

 

Try these Italian Bread Crumbs using Rhodes Mini Baguettes

What you will need: 2 prepared Rhodes mini-baguettes, sliced and slightly dried out 1 T. Italian seasoning 1/4 t. garlic salt

 

 

Try these Italian Bread Crumbs using Rhodes Mini Baguettes

Break apart your bread pieces and toss them in the blender with the remaining two ingredients. Pulse until you have a fine crumb mixture.

 

 

Try these Italian Bread Crumbs using Rhodes Mini Baguettes

Spread onto a pan. Bake for 5 minutes at 350 degrees. Stir and bake an additional five minutes. Can you believe it’s THAT easy?? And the end result is way better than the boxed version! I plan on using this recipe from now on. I may even play around with the seasonings and see if I can’t make a parmesan version!

Ingredients
