Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches

Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches are made extra delicious with a homemade poppy seed mayo spread. They are a perfect make-ahead meal and are great for serving a crowd!

Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches

Have we mentioned that we are in love with Rhodes Warm N Serv Artisan French Rolls?  They seriously make the best sandwiches and these hot roast beef sandwiches are no exception!Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches

To make them, you'll need a bag (or 2) of Warm N Serve Artisan French Rolls, some sliced deli roast beef, sliced cheese (we used colby jack, but provolone, cheddar, or swiss would all be delicious options here!), and a quick and easy homemade mayo spread. Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches

Start by slicing each roll open.  Let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes and this job will be easier.

Make the spread by mixing mayo, onion flakes (or powder), poppy seeds, and dijon or spicy brown mustard, and worcestershire sauce.   Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches

Spread some of the mayo on the inside of each roll.  We did just the bottoms, but you could do both if you'd like. Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches

Place roast beef slices and a slice of cheese inside each open roll.

Wrap each sandwich in foil (use heavy duty foil if heating over a campfire).  Refrigerate if not heating right away.

When ready to heat, place on a baking sheet (or directly on oven rack) and bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until hot and cheese is melted.

Serve right away with your favorite sides.  Enjoy!

Notes:

*Sandwiches can be made ahead of time (up to a day in advance) and refrigerated until ready to heat.

*These can also be heated on the coals of a campfire.  If planning to heat this way, use heavy duty foil to ensure you don’t end up with ashes in your sandwich.
