It doesn't get much better than dinner cooked on the grill, and this recipe is a delicious example. Grilled Rhodes roll dough makes the perfect wrap for simple grilled chicken, fresh pineapple salsa, and a drizzle of teriyaki sauce.
This is officially my favorite summer meal. Everything cooked on the grill means I don't have to heat up the kitchen and the flavor combination in these wraps is SO good. I hope you'll give this one a try!
All you need for this one are some thawed Rhodes Dinner Rolls, chicken tenders or chicken breast, pineapple salsa (You can find my favorite recipe right HERE), and a drizzle of teriyaki sauce. Oh, and of course, a grill. You can also use a grill pan on your stove top, but I love that you don't need to heat up the kitchen for this one.
For the grilled wrap, just flatten each thawed Rhodes Dinner Roll into a 4-5 inch circle and brush both sides with olive oil. Then put the dough on a hot grill and cook for 1-3 minutes per side. If you want more detailed instructions for grilling rolls, see this post - https://www.rhodesbread.com/blog/blog/grilled-rolls
Once you've grilled your rolls and chicken, all you have to do is build your wrap! Top each grilled roll with a piece of chicken, a big scoop of pineapple salsa, and a drizzle of your favorite teriyaki sauce. I'm telling you, these flavors are amazing.
Happy Grilling! I hope you'll give this one a try and that you enjoy it as much as we did!
Grilled Teriyaki Chicken WrapsServings: 6 | Skills: Beginning | Prep Time: 20 min (not including thaw time) | Bake Time: 1-3 min
Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Wraps
6 Rhodes Dinner Rolls, thawed
6 chicken tenders (or 3 chicken breasts), grilled
1 cup fresh pineapple salsa
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce, store bought or homemade
Flatten each of the thawed rolls into a 4-5 inch circle and brush each side with olive oil. Heat a grill or grill pan to medium and brush with olive oil. Grill each roll for 1-3 minutes per side.
Prepare and grill the chicken as desired (I like to marinate in teriyaki sauce or just brush some sauce on during cooking).
Follow the instructions here for making fresh pineapple salsa. It only take 15 minutes and it is so worth the extra prep.
Top each grilled roll with a piece of chicken, a big scoop of salsa, and a drizzle of teriyaki sauce.
