I LOVE summertime! I love how the warm weather gets people outdoors socializing and cooking together. The grills come out and are covered with hamburgers, hotdogs, steaks, brats, etc. However, it's about this point in the summer that a normal hamburger is just not as exciting and tasty as it was in May. This recipe is a great way to SPICE up your bbqs!!
- Rhodes Warm-N-Serv™ Crusty Rolls or Sourdough Rolls
- 3 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
- 6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
- 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 6 tomato slices
- 6 lettuce leaves
- sliced cheese
- prepared guacamole
This recipe is SUPER easy!! The first step was simply to cook the Crusty Rolls following the diretions on the package. They are already partially baked so within 10 minutes you have fresh warm buns for your sliders. Next, I cooked the bacon so it was extra crispy. In a small bowl, combine and mix the jalapeno peppers (you can make these burgers as "Hot" as you want depending on how many seeds you leave with the jalapeno), cream cheese, and cooked/crumbled bacon. I am a weakling when it comes to hot and spicy food so I took out ALL the seeds which left the burger with just a hint of jalapeno flavor. Perfect!
In a large bowl, combine the garlic, salt, pepper, and beef. Shape mixture into 12 patties-- they are about 3-4 inches in diameter. Spoon the jalapeno pepper mixture onto the center of 6 patties and top with remaining patties. Press edges firmly to seal. If the edges are not sealed securely, the jalapeno pepper mixture will ooze out onto the grill and you will loose all your flavor to the charcoal!!
Grill burgers and add cheese. Lastly, the preparation of the bun. :) Split the cooked rolls in half and fill with guacamole, burger, tomato, and lettuce.
Wa..La!! You have a masterpiece.
Seriously, this recipe made me wonder how I can spice up the rest of my bbq menu items. My taste buds went crazy with the awesome flavor and the friends loved it!

Rhodes Warm-N-Serv® Artisan French Rolls or Sourdough Rolls
3 jalapeño peppers, seeded and chopped
6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
2 pounds lean ground beef
6 tomato slices
6 lettuce leaves
Bake rolls following directions on package.
In a small bowl, combine peppers, bacon and cream cheese. Mix well.
In a large bowl, combine garlic, salt and pepper. Crumble beef over garlic mixture and mix well. Shape into twelve 3 to 4-inch patties. Spoon pepper mixture onto center of six patties. Top with remaining patties and press edges firmly to seal.
Grill burgers and top with cheese. Split rolls and fill with burgers, tomato, lettuce and guacamole.
