Last minute solutions with Rhodes Warm-N-Serve Rolls
I know how my last few days before Christmas can be incredibly busy and hectic. I have found that if I plan ahead a little and have a few key ingredients on hand, life, dinner, or last minute guests are a snap. Here are three recipes that will put a smile on any old elf’s face. All three recipes are made with Rhodes Warm-N-Serv Rolls
Last minute solution 1
Grilled Cheese sandwiches are a favorite with my family. This recipe is not on our website but I wanted to share it with all of you. We love having these with tomato soup for dinner or on a Sunday afternoon. You will need the following:
1 package of Warm-N-Serv Dinner Rolls
Slices of cheddar cheese
Creole seasoning (***optional, my family loves this on everything)
Allow the dinner rolls to thaw slightly and then remove the rolls from the tin.
Do not separate the rolls. Slice the whole square of rolls in half.
Place bottm half of rolls back into the tin. Lay slices of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of the rolls. ***this is where I sprinkle my Creole seasoning.
Place top half of rolls back on top of the cheese. Place into the oven at 350 degrees and cook for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted completely.
Serve with tomato soup.
These grilled cheese sandwiches are a quick easy meal that is filling and nutritious. I’m sure it will quickly become a family favorite for your family too.
Last minute solution 2
Warm-N-Serv Lemon Pull-Aparts
With a house full of teenagers and kids it seems we always are having an instant party. These lemon pull aparts are a great solution for party food. You will need the following;
1 pan Warm-N-Serv Buttery Dinner Rolls
1 tablespoon butter, melted
¼ c sugar
1 lemon rind grated
½ tablespoon butter, melted
¾ cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Allow Buttery Dinner Rolls to thaw slightly. Remove the rolls from the pan but do not break the rolls apart. Brush with 1 tablespoon melted butter on the bottom and sides of the “square” of rolls. Place “square” back into the pan.
Zest the rind of one lemon. ***tip*** It’s best not to use any of the white rind of the lemon, this part of the rind is a lot more bitter.
Combine zest and ¼ cup of sugar.
Sprinkle the zest and sugar mixture over the rolls.
Place in preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
Combine the citrus glaze ingredients; ½ tablespoon melted butter, ¾ cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice. ***I used the juice from the lemon I zested.
Place cooked rolls on a plate right side up and drizzle with citrus glaze. Enjoy!
Last Minute Solution 3
Toasted Cheese Rolls
Use these as an appetizer, quick snack, or to add something special to a meal. You will need the following;
4 Rhodes Warm-N-Serv Mini Baguettes, thawed (one package)
Melted butter or Olive Oil
Grated cheese ( I used parmesan and cheddar)
Garlic salt (you can use one with parsley)
Fresh Basil (optional
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Allow Mini baguettes to thaw (at least until they can be cut). Slice roll in half lengthwise.
Brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with garlic salt and top with cheeses.
Place in preheated oven and cook for 3-5 minutes
You can now top with fresh basil. This is a great addition, although I didn’t add the fresh basil because it looked really sad in the grocery store.
I know this old elf is really happy to have some last minute solutions on hand, and I certainly have a smile on my face. I will hang up my apron until we bake again! Have a very Merry (stress-free) Christmas.
