One of the many things I love about Rhodes recipes is that most of the time I have the ingredients on hand. This is the case with this Cheese and Mayo Breadtwist recipe. First I have to admit that we are not big mayonnaise people here in the Rogers household. So at first I was not too sure why I needed to add mayo to my rolls. Let me tell ya, I am glad I did. It was delightful. It just added that little extra creaminess. You can always use light mayo if you want.
I always like to put my bag of rolls in the refrigerator to defrost. I pulled the bag of Rhodes dinner rolls out and gathered my other ingredients. Again, I love that I already had all I needed. This is what you'll need:
- 18 Rhodes™ Dinner Rolls, thawed but still cold
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 tablespoon parsley flakes
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
I sprayed my counter lightly with cooking spray and rolled the rolls out into about at 12 inch rope. If you find your dough is too hard to roll out or does not stay stretched out, just let it sit for a bit and warm up a little.
I folded the rope in half and twisted,then I placed it on my sprayed baking sheet.
I then mixed my remaining ingredients in a small bowl (I may have added more Parmesan cheese :]).
I then brushed the mixture all over my twisted dough. The more the merrier I say. I got tired of twisting and just decided to slather it all over the regular round dinner rolls. I also baked the rest of the bag of rolls without the topping for the kids lunches this week.
I covered them with sprayed wrap and let them rise before baking them at 350 for 12-5 minutes.
I have to say they tasted the very best right out of the oven. Again, how can you go wrong with BUTTER, CHEESE and MAYO? So this is a great way to add a little twist to your Rhodes dinner rolls. 18 Rhodes Yeast Dinner Rolls, thawed but still cold
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
Spray counter lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Roll each roll into a 12 to 14-inch rope. Fold in half and twist together.
Mix together remaining ingredients. Brush top and sides of each twist liberally with mixture.
Place twists on a large sprayed baking sheet. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until double.
Remove wrap and bake at 375°F 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
