Top them with a juicy hot burger, slap on some mild cheese, bacon, avocados and lettuce and have an outrageous burger that will rival even the best bar burger you have ever had.
We have a family of FOODIES, ans these Cheddar Jalapeno Rolls are amazing!. My oldest daughter and I are the most adventurous. We both love to try new foods and add fantastic toppings to pizza and burgers. With the exception of spicy foods. With tender tummies, neither of us can handle a lot of spicy heat and often find ourselves overwhelmed with heat when ordering items out. So in order to enjoy spicier foods, I try new ones at home. I love fresh jalapenos and how I can control the spice without melting my mouth down. This way I can enjoy the flavor of the jalapeno while slowly building the heat up from them. These fresh rolls with cheddar cheese and chopped jalapenos were mild, but adjusting the spice in them in very easy, as I trimmed out all the white membrane and seeds. A little of that left in, or even the entire jalapeno can easily dial up the spice on these fantastically delicious rolls. Top them with a juicy hot burger, slap on some mild cheese, bacon, avocados and lettuce and have an outrageous burger that will rival even the best bar burger you have ever had.
To make these amazing burger rolls, begin with 3 Frozen Rhodes Bake N Serv Dinner Rolls for each roll you want to make.
Thaw the rolls out until they are soft.
Trim your fresh jalapenos with no seeds or more for more heat.
Add the jalapenos to the rolls.
Then add 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and 1 egg.
I use a large butcher knife to chop my mixture, any kind of large kitchen knife will work. Begin to just chop the bread up, the cheese, egg and jalapeno will mix in as you chop the bread into pieces. I often scrape the dough off the board and flip it back into the pile so that the mix ins are evenly distributed. You want your final pieces to be about the size of a large pea.
When your dough mixture is the correct size, form into a patty and separate into four even amounts. Shape the dough into a ball and place onto a sheet pan covered with parchment paper.
All the dough to rest and rise for 1 to 1.5 hours. It will proof up and be a little bigger. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Bake your rolls for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown on top. Aren't they pretty!
I chose to trim off some of the excess roll so that it fit my burger a little better. Never fear of waste, my hubby ate the ends before I could stop him, but if you have leftover rolls, cut them in half and toast them for some terrific breakfast bread, or cut them into squares for croutons for a great salad.
