Black Forest Sweet Rolls - A Fun Easy Breakfast, Brunch or Dessert Treat!
Sweet rolls have long been a family favorite dish in our house. I've been making them with my mom since I was a kid and we have had fun coming up with tasty unique flavors throughout all these years! These Black Forest Sweet Rolls are particularly one of my absolute faves!
You start out with 2 rolls of frozen bread dough and let them thaw out until they just start to rise, then you combine the two into a large ball and roll them out in to a triangle and top with semi-sweet chocolate chips!
You then dollop on a whole can of cherry pie filling! You can use canned or homemade, whatever you prefer! Just make sure that you get it all over the bread dough! And spread it out until it is about 1/2 inch away fro the sides of the dough.
Roll it on up and slice into 12 perfect bread rolls and cover and let rise until it is double in size, which takes about 1 hour...one of the longest most anticipated hours of your life! Once risen you preheat your oven to 350 and bake these delicious Black Forest Sweet Rolls until golden and puffy!
There is something about cooked rolls that gets me every time! These delicious things bake up in about 20 minutes and come out perfectly crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside!
Drizzle with a powdered sugar glaze that completes these and you have yourself one of the most easy and tasty breakfast, brunch or desserts you've ever made! Plus chocolate and cherry together are a match made in heaven!
