Asian Chicken Pizza

This wonderful pizza is topped with lots of crunchy vegetables and has great Asian flavors.

When I think of pizza, I think Cheese, Pepperoni or if I'm really being crazy maybe Hawaiian...Until now!  I have a new favorite pizza. Rhodes Asian Chicken Pizza!  I love, love, love peppers; especially this time of year when I'm looking for recipes to use garden Veggies.  I also love cilantro and green onions just as much as peppers. WIN! WIN!  I have to admit, I was hesitant when I read the ingredient “hoisin sauce”.  After tasting…no, devouring this pizza, I have since googled recipes with hoisin sauce as an ingredient because I loved the flavor.  Incase you are wondering how to pronounce hoisin, it rhymes with poison.

So on to the ingredients you will need:

4 Rhodes Texas™ Rolls or 6 Rhodes™ Dinner Rolls, thawed to room temperature
1/4 cup hoisin sauce, divided
2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese, divided
2 tablespoons green onions
1/3 cup yellow pepper strips
1/3 cup red pepper strips
grated carrots
chopped fresh cilantro 

 

I put my 6 dinner rolls in the refrigerator in the morning.  Later that afternoon they had thawed but were still cold.  I let them sit on the counter for about 20 min. to bring them to room temperature.  (This helps when you roll them out.) While my rolls were coming to room temperature, I measured my hoisin sauce and grated the mozzarella cheese.

Next I rolled my dinner rolls into a 13 inch circle.  Covered with plastic wrap and let it rest. While the pizza crust was resting I washed and chopped veggies and prepared the cilantro.

I also shredded the chicken. If you are short on time I suggest using a rotisserie chicken.  They are delicious and really easy if you are rushing to dance, baseball or both like me. (I only used half of the rotisserie chicken.  So I shredded it all and plan to use the rest tomorrow nigh for Rhodes Chicken bundles)

Remove wrap and place dough on a sprayed 12-inch pizza pan.

Spread dough evenly with 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce. Combine chicken with remaining hoisin sauce and stir until evenly coated.

Sprinkle crust with 2/3 cup cheese.

I love that this pizza only uses 1 cup of cheese and it’s a very thin crust; it’s guilt free with all the delicious vegetables and chicken. Yummm.  Okay back to the program- Next -

Top with chicken, green onions, red and yellow (or orange) peppers and remaining cheese.a

 

 

Bake at 425°F 8-12 minutes. Remove from oven and top with carrots and cilantro.

Eat extra large slices like we did because it’s delicious!

Ingredients

4 Rhodes Texas Rolls or 6 Rhodes Yeast Dinner Rolls, thawed to room temperature

Instructions

Spray counter lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Combine rolls into a ball and roll into a 13-inch circle. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest 15 minutes.

Remove wrap and place dough on a sprayed 12-inch pizza pan. Spread dough evenly with 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce. Combine chicken with remaining hoisin sauce and stir until evenly coated.

Sprinkle crust with 2/3 cup cheese. Top with chicken, green onions, red and yellow peppers and remaining cheese.

Bake at 425°F 8-12 minutes. Remove from oven and top with carrots and cilantro.
