Apple Pie Egg Rolls

It's apple pie in one delicious roll! Serve with ice cream for a perfect individual serving of pie and ice cream.

Apple Pie Egg Rolls

Whenever I ask my husband what he wants for his birthday dessert, he always asks for apple pie. There's something about the all-American treat that makes us want to have it at Thanksgiving, for birthday dessert, and in this case, rolled up into a delicious Rhodes roll for dessert on a Sunday afternoon! My kids loved eating apple pie in the form of an egg roll.

Apple Pie Egg Rolls

This recipe starts with eight Rhodes frozen rolls that have been thawed.

Apple Pie Egg Rolls

Roll out the rolls into a 14-inch circle.

Cut up apples and mix with melted butter; set aside. Top dough with a mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 5 spice blend. Sprinkle with pecans and cut into 8 slices like a pie.

Pile apples onto the wide end of each slice of dough.

Fold the wide end points around the apples and roll the apple bundle down to the point. Repeat with rest of slices. Place each apple bundle on a greased baking sheet, making sure narrow end is placed on the bottom of the pan. Mix egg with 1 teaspoon water and brush over each bundle. Sprinkle with cinnamon or 5 spice sugar. Bake at 350°F 12-15 minutes.

Mix glaze ingredients completely. Remove from oven and brush with glaze while warm. Serve with ice cream if desired.

These look delicious. Not a big fan of pie crust but love apple pie filling. Thanks for sharing this. My husband used to haul Rhodes bread dough. Big fans of it. Got one of their recipe books from the 80's. I use it so much it's falling apart, lol.

Just came up with a new recipe. Baked Apple's wrapped in Rhoades rolls. I took 2 Rhodes rolls per baking apple. Let them thaw. Combine the rolls and roll out to make a shell big enough to wrap around the apple's. Core each apple and peel skin just around top of each apple. Wrap each rolled out shell around the apples. Place 1 tsp. butter, brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon, tblsp. raisins and tsp. maple syrup. Place in pan and cover with foil. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 min.
