Apple Blossom

This Apple Blossom dessert looks elegant and stunning, but is perfect for the whole family to just dig in and pull apart the sweet bread with caramelized apples!

It's FAAAALLLLL!!! The weather is starting to cool down and be a little more bearable. Of course, that also means that all things apple and pumpkin are starting to appear. I love it when it becomes socially acceptable to eat apples for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert! Let's just focus on this stunning Apple Blossom dessert... Image title

I was floored by how easy this Apple Blossom dessert was to pull together and then was even more excited when I pulled out a chunk of bread that was crispy and sweet with caramelized apples and crust, but perfectly light and fluffy, too!

All you have to do is grab your Rhodes dinner rolls - pull out 12 and let them thaw and then cut each one in half. I love how easy it is to pull the dough out and walk away for an hour or so while they thaw! No mess involved.

Apple Blossom Dessert

Prep your cinnamon sugar mixture, melted butter and slice apples.

Flatten the rolls (approximately 3 inches long), dip them in butter and place them in your cinnamon sugar mixture. Make sure they are coated well! Image title

Wrap your first piece of dough around an apple slice and place in the center of a 9 inch baking pan.

Layer a row of apples around the dough. Continue flattening, dipping and covering your dough pieces butter, cinnamon and sugar and layer them around the apples.

Continue the layers until you have filled up the baking pan. You should have 4 rows of apples and dough. Sprinkle leftover cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the dough.

Cover and let rise until doubled.

Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Then top should be nice and golden brown. While it is baking, prep the glaze. Melt butter in sauce pan and add brown sugar. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer and stir for two minutes. Stir in cider, return to a boil and remove from heat. Let cool slightly. Gradually stir in powdered sugar. If glaze is too thick, add a little more cider.Image title

Drizzle or brush glaze over warm, baked Apple Blossom. I like to drizzle!! Mmmm. But for a more polished look, you'll want to brush it on.
