- 18 Rhodes Dinner Rolls, thawed to room temperature
- 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese
- ½ bunch Cilantro/Coriander, chopped very small
- 1 tsp Garlic Salt
- 1 tsp Oregano, dried
- 2 Jalapeños, pickled and diced VERY small
I wanted to try something different and was having some people over for dinner. I wanted a nice bread to accompany dinner but wanted something unforgettable. I knew that they loved spicy food so I modified a recipe I had seen in one of the Rhodes recipe books to enhance the Latin flavor. My guests loved it and I am sure you will too.
I should probably start by saying that using 2 pickled jalapeños made the bread spicy. Feel free to use less or more. I found this amount to be perfect but my Irish husband was overwhelmed. My guests also found it to be the perfect amount of spicy and grinned from ear to ear at the first bite.
In a large bowl combine the cheese, cilantro, Garlic salt, oregano, and jalapeño.
Take all 18 Rhodes Dinner Rolls that should be thawed to room temperature and kneed them together. Then sit them on top of your mixture.
The mixture will stick to the dough so just kneed the mixture into the dough. I was able to accomplish this very quickly by kneeding the edges of the dough up and over while making sure I was incorporating mixture.
Now place your dough on a sprayed cooking sheet. I pulled my dough out so that it resembled a loaf. Cover it with sprayed wrap.
Now let it rise until it is twice as large.
Now bake it at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes or until it looks like mine. This will be a treat that will enhance any meal. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
