German Chocolate Pizza

Do you want a simple easy to make dessert that people will rave over? This one is for you! Our local take home pizza place has a dessert pizza that is very similar to this one. I will confess to thinking I'd died and gone to Heaven the first time we tried it. I also remember thinking how silly that I hadn't tried this at home before. When it came time to choose this months recipe I saw this and knew I had to make it right away! I think I started making it an hour later. I had to let the rolls thaw first or I would have started immediately. Here's what you need.

Ingredients
- 6 Rhodes Texas™ Rolls, thawed to room temperature (make sure your 4 year old sticks her finger in one seconds before you snap the picture)
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips (I was impatient and didn't have time to run to the store so I used dark chocolate)
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans (again with the impatience so I used toasted slivered almonds)
- 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk

Combine rolls into a ball. Roll into a 13-inch circle and place on a 12-inch sprayed pizza pan. If you don't have a pizza pan you can do what I did and use a cookie sheet. I didn't have the Texas sized rolls in my freezer. I could have doubled the amount to 12 but for my family I knew 8 would be plenty. Turn up the edges of the dough to form a ridge. Poke several times with a fork to prevent bubbles from forming.
Bake at 400°F 5 minutes. The dough will rise a little so make sure that if you want a thin crust to roll it very thin. We prefer a thicker crust so I wasn't too concerned about making it very flat.
Layer pre-baked crust with chocolate chips, coconut and pecans. Drizzle with condensed milk. I didn't use all of the condensed milk. My pizza was smaller than what the recipe called for. That being said, next time I will use every drop of it! It really makes a difference when you use more. Bake at 350 for 15 - 20 minutes.

This pizza easily served six people. It's also very easy to substitute different ingredients like I did. Experiment with different dessert toppings and see which ones are your favorites.
