Dutch Oven Buttery Breadsticks
A couple of weeks ago I mentioned my want to go camping. I was able to prepare a couple of Rhodes rolls recipes in the dutch oven (both of which turned out fabulously). It has made me eager for the next time I am able to get out in to the woods and continue experimenting! Both recipes I attempted are very similar: rolls vs. breadsticks. Both are equally amazing. I was so happy that they turned out and wouldn't hesitate to make them again. We paired these with dutch oven bbq chicken and dutch oven potatoes for a wonderful meal.
You will only need FOUR ingredients: Rhodes™ Dinner Rolls (thawed but still cold), butter (melted), Parmesan cheese & garlic salt.
Melt butter in a 12-inch Dutch oven.
Roll each roll into a 7-inch rope. Roll each rope in butter in the Dutch oven until completely coated.
Place cheese in a bowl and roll buttered breadstick in cheese. Hopefully you have a bowl... I realized quickly that I was thankful for a simple recipe as being campers with limited resources.
Return breadsticks to Dutch oven and coil end to end starting on the outside edge.
Cover with lid and let rise until double.
Bake at 350°F 15-20 minutes. Dutch Oven Temperature Control using Briquets:350°F in a 12-inch Dutch oven, oven top 16, oven bottom 8
They turned the most gorgeous shade of brown. At this point I was practically jumping up and down from excitement of them being successful.
You can marvel at them. I did :)
Best part about using all of that butter? If done right, they will come out of your dutch oven effortlessly. Not a single bit stuck to the pan. Yahoo!
