12 Days of Rhodes 6

Rhodes Amazing Apps

Any get-together, whether it be with family, friends, or co-workers, is always made more amazing with great food for everyone to munch on. That's the great thing about appetizers - they're usually something small, or something everyone can just pull a piece off of. Now I know right away, that you're going to want to make that delectable delight in the middle picture, right? It just makes a great presentation and tastes delicious too! We call that a Party Loaf and here are all the deets on how to make it:

Gather your ingredients which are:

1 Loaf Rhodes™ Bread Dough, thawed but still cold

slices of your favorite cheese

cooked bacon

green onion, diced

Thaw out one loaf of Rhodes frozen bread dough.  (I used a white bread loaf, although Rhodes has a 100% whole wheat available.)  Place loaf into a zippered gallon sized plastic bag and set out on counter to thaw.  You can also place in the refrigerator to thaw overnight. Your dough should be thawed but still cold to the touch.  Roll loaf into a 20-22-inch rope. Spray bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray.  Form dough into a circle and place in the bottom of a sprayed bundt pan. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until double in size.

Once the dough is risen, preheat your oven to 350°F. While that's heating, slice the cheese and cook the bacon. Remove the wrap and bake the loaf at 350°F for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Use a plastic knife to loosen the bread from the edges of the pan.  Invert the pan and remove the loaf.  Place it on a cooling rack until completely cool. Then make cuts lengthwise and widthwise, about 1-inch apart, without cutting through the bottom crust. Place the whole thing on a sprayed baking sheet (it's easier to have a helper on this step). Insert cheese slices (I used pepper jack) and bacon pieces between the cuts then sprinkle with green onion (left that out of the pic - oops.)

Return to oven and bake an additional 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted ... and voila! (Is that how you spell that French word? It should be VWA-LA!) Anyway, it's gorgeous, isn't it?

Serve this with your favorite dip in the middle and everyone will be amazed at your baking prowess! (We won't tell them it was this easy!) There's also a video version of this recipe here if you want to take a look.
