Day 11: 12 Days of Rhodes, Christmas Fun "Traditions"

Building Traditions with Rhodes!  Make memories that last a lifetime this special time of the year!

12 Days of Rhodes Christmas Traditions

Building Traditions with Rhodes

Our family has always loved to play in the snow and build snowmen.  Although, the weather doesn’t always cooperate, with Rhodes traditional or anytime cinnamon rolls you build your own snowmen anytime.  We made some Frosty Friends with some friends and some family.  To build your own frosty friends you will need the following ingredients:

6 Rhodes Cinnamon Rolls or Anytime! Cinnamon Rolls

Cream cheese frosting,(included in the package)

Candy to decorate your frosty friends

Thaw cinnamon rolls until they are cold.

Unwind 4 ½ inches off each cinnamon roll.  Cut off then set aside.

Flatten each cinnamon rolls slightly and place on a sprayed baking sheet.  ( as you can imagine this was a bit messy but turned into a fun memory) ***tip*** I only put four frosty friends on each cookie sheet so my cinnamon rolls wouldn’t touch as they rose.

Using some of the dough you’ve cut off, shape a hat for each frosty friend, and place above each cinnamon roll. ***tip*** I think they give more character the more crooked the brim so don’t worry about them looking perfect. Cover with plastic wrap that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.  Allow to rise for 30-45 minutes (if using anytime cinnamon rolls you can omit this step)

Remove plastic wrap and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Frost with cream cheese frosting and decorate as you wish.  I used black Jelly Bellies and candy orange slices.  I think black licorice would be so cute, although I was unable to find some.

Invite your family and friend over to build some new traditions.  This was a really fun and simple activity that was a lot of fun for my family.  Happy Holidays, until we bake again.

And, of course, you may want to check out our most requested recipe for your Christmas morning breakfast:
