Celebrating holidays with friends and family is always a blast and of course food is always a huge part of the party! Let's face it though...nobody wants to be stuck in the kitchen.  American Flag Pizza starts out with Rhodes Frozen dough which makes the whole process quick and simple!

American Flag Pizza

Thaw out Rhodes Frozen Bread according to package instructions. I thaw it out right on the 1/2 sheet pan I'm going to use to make the pizza. Of course you can make as many or as few pizzas as you want. Plan on one loaf of frozen dough per pizza.

Spread pizza out on sheet pan! Poke holes in the dough with a fork.

Spread pizza sauce over dough.

Sprinkle with plenty of grated mozzarella cheese! When it comes to cheese this is not the time to skimp!

Leave a little square in the top right hand corner of the pizza for the "stars". Create stripes along the long side of the sheet pan using the pepperoni.

Cut olives in half and use the top half (not the half with the hole in it) to create the stars. The olives will slide around as the pizza cooks. I'm thinking the olives might stay in place a little better if they are placed pretty close to each other. Or you can make it rustic style and not worry about them shifting just a little bit. I think it's cute either way!

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Bake pizza on the center rack for about 15-20 minutes.

American Flag Pizza is as fun to make as it is to eat! This recipe if fun for the kids to help with! They will love adding stars and stripes to the pizza. It would even be fun to make them into little individual pizzas! Celebrate this year in a big, and easy, way with this pizza!

Have a happy and safe Fourth of July everyone!

1 loaf Rhodes frozen bread dough
1 c. pizza sauce
2 c. mozzarella cheese, grated
2-3 ounces Pepperoni slices
12 olives

Thaw loaf of Rhodes frozen bread dough according to package directions. I thawed it on a half sheet baking pan, the same pan I used to make the pizza on.

Once loaf of bread has thawed and is risen spread it to the edges of the sheet pan to form pizza crust. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and set the rack to middle position.

Spread pizza sauce over crust.

Sprinkle cheese over pizza sauce.

Make sure to leave a square space in the top left corner for the stars. Using pepperoni create “stripes” on the pizza. I overlap the pepperoni to make sure the stripe is solid.

Cut olives in half widthwise and place them whole side up creating “stars”.

Bake 15-20 minutes or until cheese is completely melted and crust is golden brown!

Cut in squares and enjoy!
